Architecture for the urban environment
Stefan Forster and his team are one of the leading German architectural practices in the field of housing construction. Employing about 30 architects, we work across the entire residential segment, from high-end apartments to affordable rented flats, from town houses to large city blocks, all the time developing and improving standards. In addition we specialize in remodeling office and administration buildings and in transforming housing estates.
For over 30 years we have been dedicated to further developing the urban environment. We apply tried-and-trusted principles – such as a mix of uses and the differentiation of space into public and private – to serve the needs of today. Our clients include municipal housing associations and cooperatives as well as private investors and developers. We see our work as a plea for quality in everyday architecture and for an urban environment that people can enjoy living in.

Managing Partner
Architect, Dipl.-Ing., born 1958 in Rockenhausen, founded the architectural practice in 1989 in Darmstadt. He studied architecture in Berlin and Venice and, after initial posts in Berlin and Mannheim, worked as a research assistant at the Department of Housing Construction at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 1988 to 1993.
Florian Kraft
Managing Partner
Architect, Dipl.-Ing., born 1975 in Regensburg. Florian Kraft has been a managing partner at the architectural practice since 2013. After an apprenticeship in carpentry, Florian Kraft studied architecture in Dresden and Istanbul. He has worked for the practice since 2003. He has also been a member of the board of the BIM Cluster Hessen since 2021.
Ute Streit
Authorized signatory
Dipl.-Ing. Architect, born 1975 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, is an authorized signatory and team leader. She studied architecture at the Technical University of Braunschweig and ETSAV Barcelona. She has been working for the office since 2007.
Nils Lamm
Authorised officer
M.A. in architecture, born 1984 in Seeheim-Jugenheim. Nils Lamm is an authorised officer of Stefan Forster GmbH and a team leader. He studied architecture in Darmstadt and Leipzig. Following initial posts in Frankfurt am Main and Leipzig, he started working at the practice in 2015.
Yvonne Merkt

Architect, M.A. Dipl.-Ing. (FH), born 1982 in Villingen-Schwenningen. Yvonne Merkt is an authorised officer of Stefan Forster GmbH and a team leader. She studied architecture at the HTWG Hochschule Konstanz. After initial posts in India and in Switzerland, she has been working for the practice since 2016.
Benjamin Metz

Architect, Dipl.-Ing. (Fachhochschule), born 1984 in Offenbach am Main. Benjamin Metz is an authorised officer of Stefan Forster GmbH and a team leader. He studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt. After an initial internship in 2007, he has been working for the practice in 2011.
